Palm trees provide food for people and wildlife. Millions of inhabitants of developing countries and region rely on palm trees. The Date palm and Coconut palm are the most well known palm trees that are the only available staple food for many people.
The hearts of many palm trees are edible, for example, the heart of the Cabbage palm.
